Brad Caldwell has been a caller since 1988 and is currently in his 37th year. He has been a member of Callerlab for his entire calling career and has served for most of those years as a member of the MS, Basic, Plus and Advanced committees and as a member of the SSD committee since it’s second year. He calls from Basic through C1. He has served on the Executive Board of the Texas State Callers Association spending one term as Secretary, one term as Vice President, and two terms as President. He also served on the Executive Board of the now defunct Capitol Area Callers Association with two terms as Vice President, and three terms as President.
Brad has been a staff recording artist for ABarK, Circle D, and Acme square dance records, making multiple records over the years. He has also made a recording for Rhythm Classics.
Brad is currently the club caller for the Shirts and Skirts square dance club in Georgetown Texas, where he resides, and was club caller for many Austin area clubs including Sun City Sundancers where he was the club caller for 26 years. For 17 years of his career he has called at least 4 dances per week as well as calling at least one set of lessons on a weekly basis. He travels extensively to call in Texas as well as other parts of the US for special dances and festivals and was a Staff Caller at Fun Valley for 12 years and has substituted during absences for many of the callers in the Rio Grande Valley at their winter programs.
